Motherhood Portrait Session in Seaside, Florida | Lillie

30A Motherhood Photography Session

A few months back, I made plans to go to 30A in Florida to second shoot a wedding with Kate of Haint Blue Collective. One of my oldest friends, Layne, lives there and I had reached out to her telling her I was going to be in the area. We met in our early days of college at Auburn, and have been friends ever since (and she will be my friend forever and ever, amen)

Layne *casually* expressed interest in joining my upcoming motherhood portrait event.

SAY LESS.

I packed up my backdrop and planned for a mobile motherhood portrait session at her at-home photography studio – Greenhouse 30A.

t is an absolute joy for me to get to watch Layne and Hannah together and to capture their sweet relationship. One of the photos that Layne really wanted to be captured was one with her dog Hank, and her sweet Hannah all with her cuddled up! CONSIDER IT DONE.

Silly and Sweet

Like many five-year-olds, Hannah was very spunky and silly during this session with her mama. I can’t even count the number of parents that tell me their child is not normally this excited or silly. I promise this is completely normal. As long as everyone is safe, I encourage Mama to take a deep breath and keep a pleasant look on her face.

After sharing with Layne a first look from her session, she messaged me back saying, “I can’t believe they turned out like this, it didn’t feel this beautiful while you were photographing.”

This is the response I live for and is the reason I am so passionate about what I do.

I want you, mama, to know that I thrive on your child being silly during your session.

I love when kids feel comfortable enough around me to simply be themselves. Comfortable kids are like that because they know they are loved, cared for, and safe.

Give me all of it: The chaotic children, tired mama, overwhelmed dad, and the snoring dog.

I photograph real motherhood moments.

Think your family is too “fill-in-the-blank” for photos?

No way.

I’m up for the challenge.

Your unique motherhood journey is beautiful, and I can’t wait to photograph it for you. If you are interested in a session, send me a note here.
