Relaxed and organic.
Using an approach that is known in the photography industry as baby-led posing, your baby will be in your arms or on a safe, supervised surface (like a bassinet or a bed) in positions that are natural and comfortable for them.
Your home is enveloped with an air of love and support as I spend up to two hours documenting your baby's early days.
Baby details - like her dimpled fingers and hair swirl - are documented in the midst of your ordinary interactions. Siblings are patiently and safely guided during sibling photos. Immediate family members are always welcome and encouraged to participate in newborn sessions.
I bring a bassinet, neutral swaddles, and a portable sound machine to newborn sessions. That's it - no beanbags, buckets, backdrops or perfectly styled rooms needed, just your loving home.

Baby Milestones
Your little one changes so much from birth to one year. Milestone sessions, typically around six to seven months old, preserves the distinct stage in-between.
One Year Celebration
Baby's first birthday calls for celebration! Whether you have visions of a snuggly session at home or a sweet cake smash in studio, I consider one year sessions a 'must'.

Full documentation of baby's first year - from maternity to one year. Reserve two, three, or four sessions with Ellen, with increased savings the more we work together.

Q. What should I expect to invest in newborn photography?
Newborn session investment begins at $900, which includes session planning, your session time, a secure online viewing gallery, and download of your choice of 25 image files.
Many families choose to purchase additional image files or artwork after reviewing their gallery, bringing the average client spend to $1500.
Q. When should we reach out about booking a newborn session?
I recommend reaching out two to three months prior to your due date to reserve your place on my calendar. I typically aim to photograph newborns when they are 10 to 21 days old.
Q. When and where are newborn sessions scheduled?
All newborn sessions take place at your home.
Most of my newborn sessions take place when baby is 10 to 21 days old. Sessions are scheduled in the morning hours, usually a 10am start time.
Q. How long does it take to get our photos back?
A link to your carefully curated gallery of hand-edited digital images and film scans (if used at your session) will be delivered to your email within three weeks of your session date.
Q. Will you use film or digital photography at our session?
Often, I will use a combination of digital and film photography. If lighting allows, I love to incorporate film for its cozy and nostalgic feel.
Q. Am I required to make any additional purchases or an in-person appointment to view my photos?
No additional or minimum purchases are required after your session.
You can easily access and download the included files right form your computer at home. Any extra files can be purchased right online as well.
If you'd like to meet and look at sample albums, swatches, custom framing options, I am happy to come to your home or meet you at the studio for a design appointment.
