Christmas Newborn Session

As a motherhood and family photographer, every session holds a special place in my heart, but some stand out and leave an indelible mark. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a family that embodied the essence of the holiday season in the most subtle yet heartwarming way.

From the moment I stepped into their home, the air was filled with a sense of warmth and joy. This family had managed to infuse the holiday spirit into their home without overwhelming the scene. It was ‘holiday,’ but with an elevated touch that resonated with a quiet comfort.

The session’s stars were undoubtedly big brother, Sawyer, and adorable baby Rhodes. Sawyer’s high energy and what I like to call ‘two-ness’ added a delightful layer to the session, making it a joy and a bit of a challenge to capture those candid moments. Baby Rhodes was a trooper through it all, quietly resting as I pulled out all my tricks to get that perfect sibling shot that all new mamas of two want.

However, what truly stole the spotlight was the undeniable connection between the parents and their children. Mom and Dad radiated love and pride, their eyes reflecting the pure joy of parenthood. There were so many sweet moments happening with this family of four, and I am honored to get to document those for them to treasure forever. Capturing these moments is so special.

LOVE the texture, romantic sleeves, and silhouette – it was all perfect. This dress complemented the overall aesthetic, creating a visual harmony that enhanced the entire collection of photos. Her styling of the whole family was just *chef’s kiss*!

As I reflect on this session, I can’t help but express my eagerness to do more newborn sessions in the coming year. The unique blend of holiday spirit, familial love, and the gentle comfort that this family exuded is something I aspire to capture more of in my work.
