I’m so excited to share these in-home pregnancy announcement photos with Macy & Nick.
Celebrating A Family’s Story
It is so special to watch a family’s story unfold. Even more so, to be invited to document the biggest milestones along the way. I had the joy of meeting this couple nearly two years ago, second shooting their wedding day with my friend (and lead photographer – but she is friend first ❤️) Kate of Haint Blue Collective.
Seeing Macy and Nick step into parenthood is a full-circle moment. My goal with every client, no matter what life stage we meet, is to build a lasting connection. Working together over time brings a sense of continuity to your story—each chapter beautifully consistent in style and vision, creates a timeless collection of memories that are uniquely yours.
Imagine, in five years, a stack of custom albums – each curated to celebrate a special chapter in your family’s story. That’s my dream, y’all. For you…well, and for my own family.
A Pregnancy Announcement At-Home
Macy envisioned a session in their home, with a relaxed and joyous feel, to share the news of their growing family.
Immediately, yes.
I love photographing families at home. I would love if your home was considered your default session location — why? Your home is an extension of you — yes, even if it a work and progress. Even if it is a temporary stop along the way to your forever home. It is an important part of your story.
A family’s story is shaped not only by the people in it but also by the spaces that hold their love, laughter, and everyday moments.
Back to my afternoon with Macy & Nick…
Macy and Nick greeted me with a big hug, perfectly styled in neutral knits. The home as extension of your family? Fully embodied here. The space beautifully matched them – refined and thoughtful, while still being warm and inviting. I was comfortable enough to *briefly* consider a clumsy swan dive into that marshmallow-y master bed.
I DID NOT, I’M A PROFESSIONAL. *OBVIOUSLY*.
The relaxed vibe of this session, with soft light streaming in and so much love enveloping the room, made it feel like we were just hanging out—capturing real, meaningful moments. These quiet, joyful celebrations are why I love celebrating families.
The gallery from our time together feels a lot like that welcoming hug. Enjoy a few of my favorites from this session.
A Bit of Christmas Cheer
Christmas is Macy’s favorite. Even if she hadn’t told me, I would have known. I definitely took these photos for her memories and *not at all* for my own inspiration for next year 😉
Thinking about announcing your pregnancy with photos at home? I’d love to spend time with your family. Drop me a note and let’s chat about your project.
