Authentic At-home Family Session

I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since I first photographed the Gibbs family’s newborn boy. Getting to document families through seasons like this is such an honor. Little boy Gibbs one-year milestone session was truly something special.

A Meaningful Look at Life at Home

We started with an authentic at-home milestone session—my favorite kind. There’s just something about being in your own space, where the little routines and meaningful moments unfold so naturally. We captured playtime, sweet snuggles, and that beautiful chaos that comes with chasing a just-turned-one-year-old around the house. It was real, honest, and full of life—the kind of photos that bring you right back to how it felt.

One of the things I love most about milestone sessions like this is seeing just how much changes in a year. Babies grow, personalities bloom, and family dynamics shift in the sweetest ways. The Gibbs’ home was filled with laughter and movement, and it was such a joy to freeze those fleeting everyday moments for them.

From Portraits to Cake Smash: Celebrating Year One

Later, I did a few simple backdrop portraits of their little guy to celebrate his big day. We kept things playful and relaxed—just letting him be himself—and then ended the session with a cake smash at his birthday party! Sticky hands, big smiles, and lots of frosting made for the perfect finale.

This session reminded me all over again why I do what I do. These aren’t just photos—they’re pieces of your story. If you’re looking to document life as it really is, in all its joy and wildness, an at-home session might just be for you.

Want to chat about booking your own milestone session? I’d love to hear your story.
