In-home Family Photography Session

There is something so special about an in home family photography session, especially when it marks a brand new chapter. When I first photographed the Brooks family, we were at the house they had been in for years. We talked then about how sweet it would be to follow up and document their next season of life.
Fast forward a year and here we are.
New house. Bigger kids. Baby brother on the move. So much more life.
One of my favorite parts of this session was recreating a photo we took at their old front door. Same family. Same love. Completely different season. It is wild how much can change in just a year. Taller kids, more personality, and a whole new space to grow into. Seeing those two images side by side is exactly why I love growing alongside families like the Brooks’.

I love the laid back atmosphere that comes with being in your own space. No one is worried about where to stand or what to do. The kids can run down the hallway, pile onto the couch, or show me their new favorite hiding spot. And baby brother was up and about this time, playful and full of personality. We captured so many sweet, candid moments of him toddling around and being his adorable self.

It felt easy. Real. Full of movement and laughter.
That is the beauty of at home sessions. They are not about perfection. They are about connection. The way your kids climb into your lap. The way your house feels when you are finally settled. The tiny details that will look completely different a year from now.

The Brooks family trusted me again to document this next chapter, and that means so much to me. Watching families grow, not just in numbers but in depth and story, is one of my favorite parts of this work.
I cannot wait to see what the next season holds for them, and if you’re wanting to document this season your family is in, reach out, I’d love to capture it for you.
